I am Asher Smith, the founder of Mountain Inclusion Academy. When I was in my first years of elementary school I experienced discrimination because of my disability. My class was not allowed to play on the playground with the non disabled kids. In my opinion, some change has occurred in schools but there is a long way to go in the inclusion of kids with disabilities. I wanted to make a school that would help all kids reach their dreams. My school has a focus on inclusion, kindness, reading, strong academics, and students following their dreams. I think this school will help kids feel like they belong. I hope that kids will be inspired to become lifelong learners. I believe every student can reach their dreams at Mountain Inclusion Academy!

 At Mountain Inclusion Academy we want to include all students and teach them kindness, reading, academic content, and green practices. We want every student to be able to engage in a rigorous curriculum so that they can pursue their dreams. Our highly trained teachers and our technology supports are here to help every student achieve their goals.

We believe that reading is one of the most important skills for students.

We believe kindness is simple but also so powerful. We use the Kaplan Kindness Curriculum. Students learn best when learning together. All students are fully included. We are located in the amazing Colorado mountains. We strive to have lots of outdoor learning opportunities.

The future of education, infused with technological innovations, promises a more inclusive, interactive and imaginative learning experience for all.” 

Our school has lots of technology for learning. We use I pads, laptops, touch screens, communication devices, Ai, and much more!
